Man Charged In 4 Towson Business Burglaries

TOWSON, MD — A man has been charged in four burglaries at Towson businesses that occurred in February, according to police. The most recent break-in happened at a liquor store on East Joppa Road on Monday. Robert C. Williams, 29, of the 2600 block of Oswego Avenue in Baltimore, was charged with 16 offenses, court records show. Police said they were called around 1 a.m. on Monday to Skyline Liquor and Wine in the 200 block of East Joppa Road, where they found the front door of the business shattered and a "suspicious person" nearby. Detectives said they linked Williams to the crime through evidence at the scene, and he was charged with the following in connection with the Skyline burglary: Theft from $100 to under $1,500Second-degree general burglary (felony)Fourth-degree store burglaryMalicious destruction of property less than $1,000 Williams was also charged in burglaries at Burger Bros. and Z Burger on Allegheny Avenue and Pure Raw Juice in the 6800 block of York Road. In connection with the burglary at Pure Raw Juice on Feb. 15, Williams was charged with second-degree general burglary; theft from $100 to under $1,500; fourth-degree store burglary; and malicious destruction of property less than $1,000. The other two burglaries — at Burger Bros. and Z Burger — occurred on Feb. 8 and resulted in the same charges. Police said in the Burger Bros. burglary, the crime happened before 12:30 a.m. The window was broken, and the cash register was stolen, officials reported. After being denied bail Tuesday in Baltimore County District Court, Williams is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center. A preliminary hearing in the case is slated for March 18.
