Updated at 10:42 p.m. on Tuesday. LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A small, private plane crash landed in Loudoun County on Tuesday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police. The pilot, Aaron Adams, suffered minor injuries in the crash. State police responded to the scene of the crash around 4:52 p.m. on Tuesday. The Federal Aviation Administration said that the plane was bound for Dulles International Airport when the pilot declared an emergency due to a lack of engine power. The plane originally departed from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. FAA officials said that only the pilot was onboard the aircraft, a single-wing 1977 Cessna 210. Officials noted that the National Transportation Safety Board would be in charge of an investigation into the crash. Flights to and from Dulles International Airport were briefly paused on Tuesday afternoon, the FAA said. All air traffic at the airport has since resumed. This is a developing story.
