LITTLETON, CO — The Littleton City Council is set to vote March 1 on a proposal to restore funding and staffing at the Bemis Library and Littleton Museum. If the proposal is approved, the museum and library would both open again on Sundays, beginning March 6: Littleton Museum Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (return to Sunday service)Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (close one hour later)Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (open one hour earlier) Bemis Public Library Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (return to Sunday service)Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (close one hour later)Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (open one hour earlier) The city faced a revenue crisis during the pandemic, but has since rebounded, and funding was proposed to restore staff and services. The library and museum received federal funding during the pandemic, which helped them stay afloat with reduced staff. In November, voters passed Ballot Issue 3A, which will increase the city's sales tax rate to fund capital improvement projects. Some of the funding is set to help with maintenance and improvements to facilities at the Littleton Museum and Bemis Library, the city said. "I can't thank the council, staff, and voters enough for their work on the funding fix," said Mark Relph, Littleton city manager, in a news release issued after the ballot measure was passed.
