FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Nationals stadium was vandalized on Monday, according to a report from the Fredericksburg Police Department. A man, who police identified as Michael Byram was accused of breaking into the facility. Fredericksburg's 911 center learned that several alarms were triggered at the stadium at 11:49 p.m. on Monday. Patrol officers responded to the stadium. When officers arrived on the scene, they reported that they found a man attempting to break into the players' locker room using a sledgehammer. The man, who was later identified as Byram, was taken into custody without further incident. During their investigation, authorities determined that Byram accessed several areas inside the stadium. Police claimed that he stole baseball memorabilia, removed the infield tarp, and damaged a storage room door. Byram was charged with public intoxication, vandalism, larceny, and entering property with intent to damage. He was originally held on a secured bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. His next court date is scheduled for March 17.
