Successfully performs all assigned tasks as an individual and/or as member of assigned crew. Able to perform work with minimal supervision. General Labor / Fire Watch Job duties and requirements: - Will be performing general labor/fire watch work to support marine/shipyard operations - Assisting welders and structural tradesmen - Ensuring safety of employees and equipment during and around all hot work procedures - Power tool usage as required - Performs a variety of general manual labor tasks including, but not limited to, transportation, cleaning, lifting, moving, preparing, loading, and unloading materials - Performs simple maintenance and/or repairs on tools, machinery or buildings as assigned - Performs other activities in a helping or assisting mode as assigned - Minimal experience or related experience preferred - Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc. All candidates must: Fully comply with shipyard and craft safety and environmental measures at all times Candidate required to have or obtain OSHA Marine certification (OSHA 10) Must be able to obtain DBIDS and all necessary badges for shipyard Must be able to pass all applicable physical and drug screening requirements Candidate must be able to stand for long periods, able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs.
