GLEN BURNIE, MD — A retired Glen Burnie woman claimed a $1 million prize from the Maryland Lottery last week. She was one of four players in Anne Arundel County to win or claim a major prize during that stretch. The anonymous resident doesn't plan to make any lifestyle changes. The money will instead bolster her already-comfortable retirement. "I'm just looking at it as more than I have now," she said last Thursday in a press release announcing the victory. "It'll make things that much easier." The 60-year-old works part-time to keep busy. Her husband is working full-time. The lucky woman doesn't have any immediate plans for celebrating her win, which was the largest in the state last week. She has a birthday in a few weeks, so she may take a day trip with her husband. The resident will continue playing the lottery because she enjoys it. The win came on a $5,000 Loaded scratch-off bought for $20 at Royal Farms No. 045, located in Linthicum at 308 South Camp Meade Road. The convenience store will also get a $1,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize, for selling the ticket. Another four top prizes of $1 million remain in the $5,000 Loaded Game, which debuted last May. Five prizes of $50,000 and 36 of $10,000 are also still available. Two more players won major prizes in Glen Burnie last week. One scored $50,000 on a Lucky Numbers ticket sold on Feb. 16 at Chesapeake Liquors, which is situated at 6720 Ritchie Highway. The other took home $11,864 playing Racetrax on Feb. 18 at Wawa No. 8503-E, located at 7124 Ritchie Highway. The final major Anne Arundel County victory came in Annapolis. That participant won $10,000 on a Money Explosion ticket bought at Parole Liquors, situated at 2125 Forest Drive. Around the state, 42 players won or claimed prizes of at least $10,000 in the week ending Feb. 20. The Maryland Lottery paid nearly $36.6 million in prizes over those seven days.
