MAPLE GROVE, MN — It's Election Day in Minnesota. Polls opened at 7 a.m., and voters have started to cast ballots across the state and around the nation. Polls will close at 8 p.m. in Minnesota. Voting in Minnesota Voters who received a ballot by mail don't have to use it. They can discard it and vote in-person on Election Day, like normal, before polls close at 8 p.m.Or they can return that ballot in-person to the local election office that sent the ballot. Do not return a mail-in ballot to your polling location, because they cannot accept it. NOTE: Voters must return their ballots in person by 3 p.m.Minnesotans have the option to register to vote on Election Day at their polling location if they want to cast a ballot in-person by 8 p.m. Learn more about the voting process in Minnesota here.
