Here are the top three stories in Des Moines today: A neighborhood revitalization pilot program will be extended by another five years city and county officials believe it's working. The pilot program, Invest DSM, was created by Des Moines and Polk County and was designed to address neighborhood decline. The goal is to invest in areas that show early signs of distress before there is widespread slum and blight. The city and county's initial three-year commitments end July 31. (Axios)The City Council has approved repairs to the Des Moines Police Department building exterior due to safety concerns. Des Moines City Council members unanimously approved putting the project out for bid with a budget of $250,000 dollars. According to city architect Ann Sobiech Munson, the repairs are far from cosmetic and are needed to ensure the safety of residents. (Local 5 - weareiowa.com)Adventureland Park in Altoona, just a 20-minute commute from Des Moines, has announced a major wage increase as it looks to hire 1,000 people. The park's new ownership made the announcement on Tuesday, Feb. 22, stating employee wages may raise as much as $4.50 per hour when compared to 2021 wages.
