By John Gibson, WNIN February 23, 2022 Nearly 102,000 Vanderburgh County residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The Indiana Department of Health counted 67 new full vaccinations in the county, raising the total to 101, 943. The agency also added 77 booster shots on the Monday dashboard. That total has topped 48,000. The Census Bureau says Vanderburgh's population is about 182,000. New COVID cases and hospitalizations have been declining in recent weeks, but experts still recommend every eligible person get vaccinated and boosted against the virus. Vaccinations and booster shots have also been falling. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
