Pat Gillis Age (as of Election Day) 52 Position sought (including ward or district number if applicable) Budget Advisory Committee Party Affiliation Independent Family My Wife Robyn and I have 3 kids. Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? No Education Bachelor's degree from UMaine Occupation Financial Advisor for 14 years Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office Various boards but nothing current Campaign website None Why are you seeking elective office? I have the skill set to ask pertinent questions and uncover areas where funds could potentially be deployed in a more efficient manner. Now that my children have grown, I have the time and ability to serve my community. The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it. The most single pressing issue is the decrease in ranking and enrollment in the SAU while the budget continues to climb. What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? My wife and I have lived in Stratham for 21 years and all three children will have gone through the SAU from K-12 by Spring of 2022. Having kids that have gone through the SAU but are no longer part gives me a different perspective. If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency) Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform. What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? I have been a financial professional for 14 years. For the last 8 years, I have been an independent running my own practice. I work with business owners and individual's financial plans and budgets every day. I have the skill set to ask pertinent questions and uncover areas where funds could potentially be deployed in a more efficient manner. The best advice ever shared with me was: What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
