Press release from TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce:
February 22, 2022
A house with secret passages and sliding panels. A maid who may not be what she seems. A wealthy investor who has called an eclectic group of creators together to produce a new show. And "the Stage Door Slasher" still on the loose. It's a formula for comedy when "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" takes the stage at Steel River Playhouse, 245 E. High Street in Pottstown. In this play written by John Bishop and directed by Liz McDonald, the creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious "Stage Door Slasher") assemble for a backer's audition of their new show at the Westchester estate of a wealthy "angel." But will the Slasher strike again? This hilarious show runs two weekends only, from March 11th through 20th, so grab your tickets early and don't miss the fun!
Managing Director Rita Pederson says, "We can't wait for audiences to laugh along as they watch the mystery unfold".
The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. In addition there will be a special Saturday matinee at 2 PM on March 19th. Tickets are $29 for adults, $24 for Seniors 65+, and $17 for students. Tickets may be purchased online via the link at www.steelriver.org, or by calling the box office at 610-970-1199. For more information about volunteer opportunities or other questions please email [email protected]. Join us and see if you can guess "whodunnit" at Steel River Playhouse!
