PITTSBURGH, PA — Police believe three armed robberies Monday night and early Tuesday likely are connected.
The first occurred just before 9 p.m. at the Family Dollar on the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln-Lemington. Two men held cashiers at gunpoint and demanded money before fleeing on foot.
The second took place at 10:55 p.m. at Pizza Fiesta on the 4900 block of Penn Avenue. Two men entered the pizzeria, displayed a weapon and demanded money before firing a shot into the floor. An employee was struck by a small piece of the bullet and treated for minor injuries.
The third happened just after midnight at the Brooklyn Food Market on the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue. An employee was held at gunpoint by two men who took money from the worker and the cash register.
Police are investigating the incidents.
