EDINA, MN — The Edina High School girls hockey team will continue the defense of its state title Thursday with a game against Northfield.
The Hornets, who are among the favorites to win the state title, face off against Northfield in the Class AA quarterfinal, scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The Edina girls hockey team won the state championship in 2021 and has the best player in the Twin Cities metro, according to the Star Tribune.

Senior defender Vivian Jungels was named the Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year on Monday after leading Edina High School back to the state tournament. Jungels has racked up 30 assists and 16 goals this season, the Star Tribune reports.
Edina's junior goalkeeper Uma Corniea is "arguably the best goalie in the tournament," according to the Minnesota State High School League.

The winner between Edina and Northfield will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Burnsville and Minnetonka. Class AA semifinal games are scheduled to be played Friday night.
