Dublin Sets Up Fallen Officer Fund For Deputy Aubrey Phillips

DUBLIN, CA — The City of Dublin is partnering with the Three Valleys Foundation to establish a Fallen Officer Fund for the family of Deputy Aubrey Phillips, a 36-year-old DPS deputy and Dublin resident who died unexpectedly on-duty on Feb. 12. Funds will be donated to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office's Charitable Foundation, which the sheriff's office set up soon after Phillips' death. "I want to thank the Three Valleys Foundation for swiftly pulling together this fund to support the Phillips family," Dublin City Manager Linda Smith said in a statement. "Many members of our community want to do what they can to help the family of Aubrey Phillips, and we knew that establishing this fund would ensure that the greatest number of people who want to help, could do so."Smith ordered all City flags to fly at half-staff until Phillips' burial. Phillips died in the early hours of Feb. 12 after suffering what the city described as a "severe medical emergency." She leaves behind a husband, who is also a Dublin Police Deputy, and three children. Phillips had served with the Dublin Police Services for 7 months and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office for 5 years. Her husband is a Dublin Police Deputy, and her father is a retired Alameda County Deputy Sheriff, according to the city. Donations can be made at Dublin Fallen Officers Fund - Three Valleys Community Foundation (3vcf.org). All donations to the Fallen Officer Fund are tax-deductible.
