BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man has been charged after attempting to enter an open window to a home, according to police. Zacharie Brown, 28, was charged with felony criminal trespass to residence, and has been linked to previous incidents of residential trespassing that are still under investigation, police said.
At 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Bolingbrook officers were conducting foot patrols and surveillance in the 100 block of Delmar due to a previous incident on Feb. 17, police said. At 3:03 on Feb. 17, police were called to a home after someone attempted to enter via a window. A resident saw the person, who fled when they realized they were noticed, police said.
Police said investigators were able to determine a suspect, now identified as Brown, due to a similar incident in December.
While on foot patrol, officers saw Brown's vehicle parked on the street, and saw him approaching the same home as the Feb. 17 incident, according to police. Officers attempted to stop Brown, but he was able to get to his vehicle and fled the area.
Additional officers in the area were able to conduct a traffic stop on Brown's vehicle, and he was detained by police and taken to the Bolingbrook Police Department, police said. He was charged and taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
