Tuesday Morning Closing 5 Ohio Stores Due To Bankruptcy

ROCKY RIVER, OH — Tuesday Morning, the home goods chain, filed for bankruptcy this week. The brand plans to close 230 stores nationwide, including five locations in Ohio. The company said the new coronavirus pandemic crippled its finances. "The prolonged and unexpected closures of our stores in response to COVID-19 has had severe consequences on our business," said Tuesday Morning CEO Steve Becker in a statement to investors. According to Tuesday Morning's bankruptcy filing, stores will be closed in two phases. During the first phase, 130 stores will be shuttered. The company is targeting the following Ohio stores for closure: Solon Square Shopping Center on Aurora Road in SolonRiver Square on Detroit Road in Rocky RiverEaston Square on Morse Road in ColumbusTiffany Square on Boardman Poland Road in PolandSpringdale Plaza on East Kemper Road in SpringdaleAfter closing 230 stores, Tuesday Morning will have approximately 450 locations remaining in the U.S. While the COVID-19 pandemic has squeezed Tuesday Morning's finances, company officials said they have been encouraged by the performance of reopened locations. "We plan to emerge from Chapter 11 in a stronger position as a leading home goods off-price retailer, providing unmatched value to our customers," Becker said.
