Breweries Host Benefit For Fallen Officer Mia Goodwin's Family

CHARLOTTE, NC — Several local businesses are teaming up to host a benefit to help the family of fallen officer Mia Goodwin. Goodwin was killed in the line of duty in December of 2021 while working a traffic crash. A driver of an 18-wheeler crashed into her patrol car, killing her on scene. Goodwin had just returned to duty from maternity leave and left behind her husband, a firefighter, and three children. A benefit on their behalf will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at Suffolk Punch Brewery through Salute to Our Heroes which includes two options for tastings, the first from noon until 3 p.m. and the second from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. You can buy tickets here. Many breweries are participating including Armored Cow, Blue Blaze, Burial, Devils Logic, Heist, High Branch, HopFly, Middle James, King Canary, Percent, Pey Thieves, Tap House, Pilot, Primal, Resident Culture, Salud Cerveceria, Seaboard, Suffolk Punch, Sugar Creek, Triple C, Pinehurst, Twenty-Six Acres, and Wooden Robot. Hex Coffee Roasters, Noble Smoke and QC Catering are also assisting.
