Here are the top 3 stories today in Grand Rapids: A Grand Rapids man has been detained by Kent County sheriff deputies on charges related to the theft of guns from a Byron Township Business. The 27-year-old suspect allegedly stole weapons from Al & Bob's Sports on the 500 block of 68th Street SW on Wednesday. Deputies apprehended the man after he crashed his vehicle in front of a McDonald's. (MLive.com)A model airplane assembled and painted by artist Alexander Calder is on display at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. The airplane model named "Flying Colors of the United States" was gifted by Calder in 1975. The airplane model is a Boeing 747. (MLive.com)Grand Rapids' Midtown Neighborhood Association has created a new Tool Lending Library for residents to maintain their property for free. Residents will have to give a $5 deposit when they check out a tool but the money will be returned when the tools are returned. The goal of the lending library is to foster equity, sustainability, and community within the neighborhood.
