In-person Story Times and Youth Programs: With consideration for the ongoing pandemic, and for the safety of everyone involved, please take special note of the following: IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!   Spring Story Time at the Library March 21 – May 12 Registration begins on Friday, March 4 Toddlers and Preschoolers Registration for Spring Story Time begins Friday, March 4.  Spring Story Times for toddlers and preschoolers will start on Monday, March 21 and run until Thursday, May 12. Registration is required, parents or caregivers of children may register in the library or by calling 734-426-4477. Space is limited due to social distancing. Registration will be on a first come first served basis. Face coverings are required. Children 18 months to 5 years of age may sign up for one story time session. Each session runs for 8 weeks. Story Times are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Children under 18 months may attend, however books and activities are geared for toddlers and preschoolers. Infants are welcome at story times with their siblings.  Parents or caregivers are required to attend. Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Spring Story Times for children include picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays and other activities that encourage a love of reading.   Spring Virtual Story Time *LIVE ONLY Wednesdays at 10:30 am on Facebook Live March 23 – May 11 Toddlers and Preschoolers Visit the library from your living room! Ms. Krista will be singing familiar songs, telling stories, and demonstrating fun action rhymes every week on Wednesday at 10:30 am. *In order to meet current read-aloud permission requirements from book publishers, virtual story time will be held live only. Videos will no longer be posted for later viewing on our Facebook page.   Super Stories Book Club For Young Fives and Kindergarteners Thursday, March 3 4:30 – 5:00 pm Theme:  Reptiles & Amphibians Registration begins Thursday, February 3 This is a story and craft program held in person at the library for kids transitioning out of story time and into book club. Adults should attend this program with their children. Each month Ms. Krista will read books related to a theme and then the kids will make a theme related craft. Registration is required.   St. Patrick's Day Story & Craft Program Tuesday, March 8 Session 1 – 10:00 – 10:30 am Session 2 – 11:00 – 11:30 am For ages five and under Registration begins Tuesday, February 8 Listen to St. Patrick's Day stories and make St. Patrick's Day crafts. Registration required. Face coverings required.   MythCrackers: Common Animal Myths LIVE ANIMAL PROGRAM Wednesday, March 9 Session 1 – 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Session 2 – 2:30 pm – 3:30pm Grades 1 – 5 Registration begins Tuesday, February 1 Are owls really wise? Do turtles come out of their shells? You'll find the answers to these questions and more in this new live wildlife animal presentation. This program addresses common wildlife myths and together with the audience's help we'll find out if they are "correct" or "cracked." Registration required. Face coverings required.   Club Create Book Club Grades 1 – 2 Thursday, March 10 4:30 – 5:15 pm Theme:  Reptiles & Amphibians Registration begins Thursday, February 10 This is an independent book club for first and second graders held in person at the library. Ms. Krista will read longer picture books centered on a theme and the group will participate in activities and crafts related to the theme. Registration is required.   Maker Challenge Program:  Leprechaun Traps For grades K – 4 Tuesday, March 15 4:30 – 5:15 pm Registration begins Tuesday, February 15 Get Creative at the library! Listen to a story about Leprechaun Traps and then design and build your own. Registration is required.   All Star Readers Book Club Grades 3 – 4 Thursday, March 17 4:30 – 5:30 pm Book:  Measuring Up by Lily LaMotte Registration begins Thursday, February 17 All Star Readers Book Club will meet in person this winter. We'll play an icebreaker game, have a book discussion, and do an activity related to the book we discuss. Books will be available to pick up at the library after you register. Registration is required.   Spring Break Craft Bags Take & Make Crafts Friday, March 25 – Sunday, April 3 For kids of all ages Kids of all ages are invited to stop by the library and pick up a bag with a variety of seasonal or themed crafts to make at home. No registration required. While supplies last. Limit 5 per family.   Bad Guys in the Library Tuesday, March 29 Session 1 – 1:30 – 2:00 pm Session 2 – 2:30 – 3:00 pm Session 3 – 3:30 – 4:00 pm For Grades K – 4 Registration begins Tuesday, March 1 The Bad Guys' next mission is taking place in the Library. Do you want to be part of their team? Join us at one of three sessions to complete your training before the Bad Guys movie comes out in April. Registration is required.   Fabric Nature Portraits Virtual Craft Program Friday, April 22 10:00am-11:00am For grades K-5 Registration begins Tuesday, March 15 Create your own Fabric Portraits by using reused fabric scraps, buttons, craft items, googly eyes, and more! This craft will be nature and animal themed to celebrate Earth Day! Registration is required. Space is limited. Please only sign up if you plan to attend. Registration deadline is Friday, April 15. Supplies will be available for registered participants to pick up beginning Monday, April 18. A Zoom link will be emailed before Friday, April 22.   Preschool Spring Story & Craft Program Saturday, April 23 9:30 – 10:00 am For ages five and under Registration begins Monday, March 28 Listen to stories about the spring season and make a spring craft.
