Area residents earn degrees from Illinois Wesleyan University Illinois Wesleyan University honored 388 candidates for graduation on Aug. 2, 2020 during the University's first-ever virtual Commencement ceremony, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. President S. Georgia Nugent delivered the Commencement address. The candidates include: Tanner Luke, of Arlington Heights, majored in Computer Science.Danielle Ponsot, of Arlington Heights, Magna Cum Laude majored in English - Literature and Secondary Education.Melissa Spacapan, of Arlington Heights, majored in Nursing.Nathan Vartivarian, of Arlington Heights, Cum Laude majored in English - Writing.— Merit Pages News Moradi graduates from Bates College Sara Moradi, of Arlington Heights, graduated after majoring in politics and economics at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Moradi, the child of Ray Moradi and Corina Flores-Moradi of is a 2016 graduate of Glenbrook South High School. Bates College graduated 463 students from 37 states and 52 countries on May 31, 2020. Students who attempt 12 graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher earn Dean's List honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00 grade point average on 12 graded credits attempted earn High Dean's List honors.
