ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A man wanted for questioning over a reported suspicious incident Sunday has been found. The Arlington Heights Police Department said Thursday afternoon it has identified and spoken with the man observed in a photograph circulated on social media and that originally accompanied this story. A further investigation into the incident revealed no evidence that a crime occurred and no criminal charges will be filed.
There is no indication that the man is a danger to the community.
Police originally said the incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the area of Jules Street and Dryden Avenue (near Dryden Avenue and Thomas Street). Police released three photos, including two of a red vehicle believed to be related to the man, Wednesday. Earlier Thursday, police said they've contacted the owner of the red vehicle and found that they were not involved.
Police also released some more details regarding the incident Thursday. A juvenile reported being followed by the man in the released photo and feeling uncomfortable. No communication or contact occurred between the two.
The Arlington Heights Department said they were only attempting to identify the man in order to speak with him regarding his actions.
"There is no evidence of a crime being committed and there is no indication of the pictured male is a danger to the community," police said in a press release.
