Fabrication Technician – Entry Level As the entry-level Fabrication Technician, you must have prior mechanical experience and the ability to apply these skills to the job. A very strong mechanical aptitude, high-quality workmanship and attention to detail is necessary for your success in this role. You will be required to fabricate equipment by following instructions in shop manuals, tube-bending drawings, assembly checklists, P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagram), and verbal instructions. Responsibilities: Fabricate Equipment • Assemble tubing and components based on P&ID and engineering drawings, and ensure all components are oriented and placed correctly. • Bend tubing per drawings. • Swage utility tubing and install tubing per drawings and shop manuals. • Fill out assembly checklists and equipment mechanical settings sheets concurrently and accurately throughout each project. • Assist in performing P&ID reviews. • Leak test all tubing routes to ensure there are no leaks. • Adhere to production schedules & project timelines. • Use and monitor pull card system and pre-build subassembly inventory. General • Punctual attendance. • Team player. Positive attitude. • Maintain a clean and orderly fabrication shop. • Ensure a safe work environment by keeping work areas safe and follow safe work practices. • Participate in safety inspections as scheduled. • Drive forklift to load and unload equipment. • Flexible to work overtime or weekends. • Other tasks as required. Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong mechanical aptitude. • High quality workmanship and attention to detail. • Trainable to be able to read and interpret schematics (P&ID, tube-bending drawings, etc.) • Experienced with, and able to use, basic hand and power tools (measuring, tube-bending, mechanical, drilling, etc.) • Ability to communicate effectively with others Physical Requirements • Lift, carry and install components weighing up to 50 lbs. • Stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). • Kneel, bend, and lay on floor to install components in equipment, etc. • Push and pull with upper body to bend tubing, install swage components, etc. • Able to see drawings, measuring equipment, gauges, components and their installation, etc. • Use drills and hand tools.
