ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — While many lottery players find themselves filling out numbers all the time, some only do it on occasion. John Pisors, of Arlington Heights, is one such player. Pisors recently won $5,000 on the Illinois Lottery's fastest game, Fast Play, all because he was inspired by another player's win. Pisors is an occasional Illinois Lottery player who decided to try his hand at Fast Play after seeing news of another winner in his area, according to a release. "The reason I tried the game that day was because I was at the Red Rooster and saw a ticket posted where someone won $500, so I thought that I may as well give it a try myself," Pisors told Illinois Lottery. "This is only my second time playing." Pisors purchased his ticket from Red Rooster at 1628 W Northwest Hwy in Arlington Heights, but it wasn't until two days later that he realized what he had purchased. "I was with a couple of buddies and decided to take out my ticket and look at it," Pisors said. "I saw I had three sevens and I said, 'I got a winner!' I didn't realize what the prize payout was until I looked at the bottom and I couldn't believe it!" "I had to have everybody look at it too," he laughed. "I brought it to Red Rooster to scan and, sure enough, $5,000." Pisors is going to share his winnings with his wife and children and put the rest of the money toward continuing one of his favorite annual vacations, according to the release. "I go to Green Lake, Wisconsin on a golf trip with some work buddies every year, so I won't break tradition," he said. When asked what it's like to win $5,000, there's no doubt that "it feels great," Pisors said. Stay Patched In!
