The Grateful Dead were innovators on several fronts, and progressive drumming and spacey jams were exemplary examples. Our band is a unique take on a Grateful Dead tribute band. And we are seeking a professional multi-percussionist to leverage this uniqueness alongside our current drummer. The ideal candidate for this position will have some knowledge of the Grateful Dead and the jam band genre, coupled with both formal training and extensive live performance experience as a percussionist in a variety of musical styles. Reading percussive charts in standard notation is a plus. In addition, they will feel at home creating deep and danceable grooves for the Dead's vast catalog of music that we play. Our level of professionalism and caliber of musicianship rivals that of top touring tribute bands, and we encourage you to be honest with yourself and your musicianship before applying. And we look forward to learning more about your background in drumming and percussion, and your equipment and rig setup. An assortment of drums and other percussive instruments, quality microphones, mixing board, effects, and other audio equipment will ensure that we are a gig-ready band. We currently rehearse once a month, and play live once a month. This bi-monthly cadence may increase over time, and we welcome candidates that foster relationships with local Denver-area venues, creating new opportunities for us all. With regular travel to rehearsals and gigs, reliable transportation is needed. We are grateful for your consideration. And jam on!
