Food Service Specialist Department: Administration General Hours will be approximately 7am- 4pm. (may vary slightly by center) Responsibilities Include:· Must attain Level 3 food handlers training and certification (safe serve online webinar and test)· Horizon will pay for certification requirements· Prepare, operate and close meal service (breakfast, lunch and snack) including collection of meal items from classrooms after service· Check meal count sheets for accuracy after each service· Complete milk inventories· Update meal count orders· Check food deliveries for accuracy of count and temperature for hot foods· Communicate with CACFP Coordinator regarding problems· Order supplies for meal service: condiments, plates, cups etc.· Kitchen Cleanliness a MUST!· Between Meal service assist office with duties that may include classroom supervision, data entry, cleaning or answering phones.Qualifications:· Food experience helpful· Familiarity with Child Care Center environment· We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children· Demonstrate cross cultural competency while working with Horizon's diverse population· Required to have safety in-services completed, once employed.Salary Range: Base rate is $10.75 with an additional incentive for food handler training and other requirements Employee Benefits:· Health/Medical coverage (30+ hrs/wk)· Tuition Reimbursement and paid trainings· 403 B Retirement Savings Plan· Holidays and Paid Time off· Discounted Horizon childcare, preschool or OST services Apply online www.HorizonOhio.org/careers
