Complimentary 20 minute BioMat Sessions Why use a Biomat? The BioMat is not a standard heating pad, since it does not include coils. Instead, the radiant heat is produced by hot crystals that cover the surface of the mat, and there are settings to control the desired temperature of the crystals. Using a flexible conductive heating plate, a technology originally developed by NASA to safely warm space stations and space vehicles, crystals are warmed between 95F -158F. The BioMat can transfer more heat into the body, compared to a conductive heating pad due to radiant heat transfer. Since the heat is distributed evenly throughout the body, rather than just on the skin, there is great therapeutic value. Studies have shown that by decreasing our core body temperature by ONE degree, our immune functions decrease. (Immunol 2015) In contrast, if we increase our core temperature by ONE degree, we strengthen our immune function through increasing blood circulation and lymph flow. The harmful effects of electromagnetic pollution and stress are also mitigated due to the negative ions generated by the layer of natural tourmaline stone.
