Museum curator Regina Shaw Small brings our past to life through her Black Artifacts Pop-Up display. When we celebrate Black History in the making, we reflect on the past and learn lessons that help our future. Museum curator Regina Shaw Small's Black Artifacts Pop-Up brings this past to life for today's viewers. Her noteworthy collection of Black inventions, books, artifacts, music, and caricatures paint an immersive story of our Black history. Join us at our space on February 26 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM to witness this history for yourself! Masks are required for entry. More about Regina Regina has a quiet spirit, is highly creative and inquisitive, but always on a mission to help others. She resides in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area with her husband, they are the proud parents of two daughters, two grandsons and four great grandchildren. Since retirement, she has continued her busy schedule with a focus on community service and the welfare of children. Every February, Regina, her husband, and daughter takes her Black History Artifacts display on the road visiting several local schools, churches and community centers during the month. The display consists of items created by Black Inventors, Historical Black Figurines/Notable Blacks and ‘Now and Then’ artifacts, such as the washboard-washing machine, typewriter-computer, and magnifying glass-eyeglasses. Regina is an active member of Kettering Baptist Church Legacy Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter (PVAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.in Potomac, MD, Langston University National Alumni Association (LUNAA), DC Metro – LUNAA, So Others Might Eat (SOME) where her family volunteers monthly delivering food to seniors, and a founding member of the Women in the Circle (WIC) Prayer Group. Regina has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for the past 51 years, where she has continuously volunteered her time. She celebrated 50 years as a Golden Delta November 2020.
