Poster restoration studio seeks motivated, detail-oriented individual to work hands-on with vintage poster restoration and conservation as a linen backer and studio assistant. Immediate full-time position working 40 hours per week is available with potential for growth in sunny studio located in the South end of Stamford, CT, a short walk from the train station.
We will train to conserve original works of art through the linen backing process. As a candidate, you must be thorough, detail-oriented and an adept problem solver for this unique position and must be flexible to help with the workflow. This is also a physical position as a studio assistant. You must be comfortable working with tools as well as lifting up to 50 lbs.
This position as linen backer / studio assistant requires focus, patience, readiness and long-term commitment. Experience with wallpapering and construction is a plus! Individual will also be responsible for keeping the workplace clean and organized. See www.posterconservation.com for more info.
