This event will be introduction to the beautiful sounds of Byzantine chanting and its significance in our spiritual lives. All are welcome!
Interested in Byzantine chant but not sure where to start? Join us for a Lunch and Learn event on Saturday, February 26 in the ballroom at Saint Sophia at 12 pm (after 1st Saturday of Souls). George Theodoridis, Archon Music Instructor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Protopsaltis, Choir Master, and Director of Music Arts, will provide an overview of Byzantine music and the importance of chanting as a ministry of the Orthodox faith. Father Panayiotis Steele, also an accomplished chanter, will introduce Lenten hymnology and what it means in relation to our spiritual journey towards Pascha (Easter). No prior knowledge of chanting is required.
Tickets are $20 per person. Lunch will be provided - please reach out if any dietary restrictions. All are welcome to attend!
