The Brother Mike Award Ceremony honors an outstanding out-of-school time (OST) “connected mentor” with a $5,000 grant. With support from SocialWorks, the Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX), and Northwestern University, the annual award will honor and recognize an outstanding out-of-school time “connected mentor” with $5,000 no-strings-attached financial support. The Brother Mike Awards ceremony, held at the Harold Washington Library Center, will feature performances by prominent Chicago-based poets and spoken word artists, including a special guest! This event is open to the public and is sponsored by Northwestern University. Special note: This event will follow city mandated COVID protocols including masking and proof of vaccination requirements until otherwise advised. We will send an email to attendees regarding entry requirements 48 hours prior to the event.
