Learn the science AND spirit of Western Herbalism with this hands-on course this Spring. In this integrated and hands-on course, each student will be introduced to many different Western Herbs with a focus on how to be an herbalist, balanced with a science and spirit aspect. Each class will target a specific action the herbs are known to take as well as many hands-on projects in class and home to solidify the material learned during that class period. Some project examples are medicine making for wellness, cooking/baking with herbs, first aid with herbs, and much more. When this course is completed, each student will have the resources and knowledge to be a solid, beginner herbalist with potential to grow in their communities. This course is scheduled from the first day of Spring (March 20) to the last day of Spring (June 19) with 5 different meeting times all meeting from 1 to 6pm. All classes meet on Sunday afternoons at Red Feather Healing, LLC in Universal City, Texas and build on one another for a sturdy foundation of herbalism. ALL class dates are necessary to attend and there will be no make-up class times. Below are the dates and the general themes of the day. March 20th- 1 to 6pm= Introduction to Herbalism and Nourishing Herbs April 3rd- 1 to 6pm= Self-Care: Blessing Herbs, Adaptogens and Nervines May 1st- 1 to 6pm= Immunity: Expectorants, Diaphoretics and Diuretics May 15th- 1 to 6pm= Digestion and Skin June 19th- 1 to 6pm= Astringents, Demulcents and Aromatics Many supplies will be provided for class, but other supplies will also need to be purchased before the classes. A syllabus with all supplies needed will be emailed to the student once registration has been completed and confirmed. Many items are common kitchen supplies, so this isn't a hard list of supplies to obtain. There are limited spaces (5 to 10 people) as this creates a more intimate and organic group of like-minded people to learn and feel comfortable together. This course is a total of $555 for all of the classes as they are all required for this course. To register, a non-refundable deposit is required of $155 plus fees to be paid with Eventbrite. Just choose one "class" and register as this will register you for all of the classes. The other amount can be paid in a one-time payment ($400) via Venmo, Cash App or Zelle OR a payment plan of 3 payments (each payment $155) due in the beginning of April, May and June also via Venmo, Cash App or Zelle. The remaining payment will be scheduled by Daisy of Daily Daisy Botanicals at a later date. A syllabus and supply list will also be sent after the initial registration has been received. It's anticipated that this course will sell-out so register asap.
