It is with a heavy heart that we are posting this rehoming ad. Andre has been in the family for 6 years now and is a wonderfully loving lummox. He is very large and strong, which is why he needs to find a new home. He has been our mom's companion since our dad died but came from a farm in Texas at age 3 where he received little training and was chained up most of the time. He loves to go play at the dog park or doggy daycare with all his buds and gets along with most other dogs, though he gets excited to go meet a new buddy and can pull very hard. This is what happened a few weeks back and he tripped mom and she broke her arm and dislocated it, albeit on a steep hill in the morning when it was slippery. She can no longer take care of him the way he needs or desires and we are looking to find him a forever home that is fenced and has an owner who can provide the safety/strength he needs on walks. He gets separation anxiety and typically requires a walk or trip to the dog park to go potty, so he would be best suited for an individual or family where someone is home most of the day or can put him in a daycare while at work. If this sounds like the right challenge for you, please get in contact with us for more information and pictures of our brute Andre. We will require a home visit or two with mom and Andre to make sure he is going to a loving home and would prefer a new owner who is willing to send pictures and or updates on how he is doing, at least for the first few months. Mom feels like she is losing one of her kids and is very upset but understands that she just can’t handle him at his size anymore. Please contact us through the Craigslist response email.
