A casual bike ride (beginner-friendly) to advocate for greater bike safety along Homestead Rd with FREE boba.
Students are encouraged to come out with friends and bike a loop together to outline the issues of the current bike lanes along the north-side of Homestead Rd, which are part-time parking spaces, forcing student cyclists to weave into traffic to avoid parked cars. We are working on advocating for full-time bike lanes so that students can safely ride to and from school
The bike ride starts at the Homestead HS bike racks at 3:45, goes up Mary Ave and takes a quick stop around 4:00pm at Fremont HS for FHS students to join. Then heads south on Wolfe Rd, and goes back to Homestead HS on Homestead Rd, to get free boba. The entire route is on paved bike lanes and is friendly to all riders.
