WIC Week in Wilmington, NC! Don't miss the first ever WIC Week organized by NAWIC Cape Fear Chapter! It's a time to celebrate and thank all of the exceptional women that are part of the construction industry. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute and be a part of this great event in the Cape Fear Region. See below the schedule, make sure you check it out as we will be adding more details, each day. Sunday, March 6th - We will have a WIC Week billboard up, come show your support and take pictures for social media to share nationally. The WIC Week billboard will be in Leland, next to the Hampton Inn and Walmart Shopping Center. Let's meet at 11am! Tuesday, March 8th - Together, let's celebrate International Women's Day! Hosted by the Wilmington Business Journal, please join us at ALOFT Wilmington at Coastline Center, for a Roundtable Panel Discussion with some of the most influential women in the Cape Fear Region. The panel will be held in the Parlor Room from 4:00-5:00pm and is open to everyone.We will speak on topics about building a diverse and inclusive work force, new women owned businesses in the Cape Fear Region, and the challenges that come with that. Brenda Dixon - Owner & Realtor, Dixon Realty April Jones - President, April Jones Insurance Cocktail hour will be held after the Panel Discussion from 5:00-7:00pm at ALOFT Rooftop Bar. This event is free, appetizers will be provided, and a cash bar will be open.Wednesday, March 9th - New Hanover County Highschool - We will be meeting students and encouraging them to seek opportunities in the construction industry. Arrival at 1:20 and speak between 1:40-2:10pm. Food Drive/ Food Truck (Poor Piggy's) @ Brewers Kettle from 5-7pm. Join us for an evening of fun and good time. You can bring any items that you would like to donate to the local food bank . A portion of the proceeds from Poor Piggy's sales for the night will also be donated to the local food bank. **Family including children and friends are invited! **Bring Fido! - Brewer's Kettle is pet friendly. Thursday, March 10th - Visiting Local Business around town. Let's bring awareness of NAWIC by visiting local businesses and promote them on social media platforms. More details to follow! Friday, March 10th - NAWIC Cape Fear will be hosting an Appreciation Dinner @ ALOFT Wilmington at Coastline Center, ground floor ballroom. Dinner will be from 6:00-9:00pm and a portion of the proceeds will be going to Cape Fear Community College Scholarship Grant for emerging women in the construction field.Register to buy your tickets, you don't want to miss it!Saturday, March 11th - Join us in volunteering at Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry - more details to follow!
