Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a nonprofit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to We have three different volunteer categories for refurbishing the bikes. Cleaners – Each bike gets a good, thorough cleaning before moving on to the next stage. Just bring yourselves, we’ve got supplies! Preppers – Take care of the easy stuff, mechanically speaking: Grease seat posts, change tires, swap saddles, new grips, new pedals, etc. Mechanics – Knowledge and skills required. Change cables, adjust shifting, adjust brakes, true wheels, adjust bearings. Under age 18 volunteers must have a guardian with them. https://fb4ksandiego.org/volunteer/ Free Bikes 4 Kidz San Diego! Together we will get the wheels rolling on close to 500 + bikes this year. We're looking for bike cleaners, preppers, and mechanics. We can use volunteers with any level of experience with bicycles.
