Position Overview Packaging Technician is responsible for the operational roles necessary to drive the On Us beverage bottling line. This position will take direction from the Lead Packaging Technician as well as standard operation procedures in place. The Packaging Technician adheres to the organization’s policies as well as health and safety policies and procedures Individual is expected to learn quickly and take initiative within this role. Compensation based on direct experience Duties & Responsibilities Follow standard operating procedures in all phases of the processRaw materials assessment, organization, management and inventoryStaging inputs nearest the relevant equipmentTrack and trace logging into ERP systemMeasuring, weighing, counting and mixing syrup blends as instructedMaintain accurate production logs and recordsConstantly monitor operating equipmentInput necessary raw materials into associated equipment for productionWork with the Maintenance Manager to properly monitor and maintain Krones production lineCoordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to obtain batch tickets and identify products to be packaged as per customer requirements.Participate in sanitation program as requestedIdentify product inventory or quality issues in production and packaging areas, and report them to the SQF Manager or Quality Manager.Constantly seek ways to support other team members while striving for process improvements.Maximize line efficiencyMaintain and enforce a high level of housekeeping abiding by the C.L.E.A.N. program .Responsible to report food safety problems and or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actionsStrictly follow GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the SQF System ProgramMaintain and ensure safety complianceIdentify, track, and report on department KPIs. .Troubleshoot issues on production floor as necessary.Train on all equipment within our facilityAssist in other departments or perform other tasks when necessary Requirements One or more years in the production of a food manufacturing operation.Related trade school courses preferredKnowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and management practices to prevent or manage risk and potential losses.Superior employee communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to build relationships with others who do not share his/her adaptability in this regard.Capable of using softwareAbility to be assertive without being outwardly aggressive in dealings with othersStrong personal work ethic, enthusiasm and high energy level.Flexible schedule – evening / weekend schedule may be requiredStrong sense of accountability as well as a willingness to learnMechanical aptitude Working Conditions The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
