Description
DUBLIN, CA — The city of Dublin is inviting qualified professional artists and high school student artists working under the supervision of a professional artist or art teacher to submit designs for a temporary public art project titled "New American Backyard."
Chosen artists will decorate Adirondack chairs to be on temporary display for public viewing at selected businesses, parks, and events throughout Dublin from March 2020 through September 2020.
The chairs will be awarded to different artists based on design, and artists will be given the option to submit a design for one chair or a set of two chairs.
The city is paying a $1,000 stipend to each artist or, if the artist is a student or on a student team, to the supervising professional artist or art teacher. The $1,000 stipend will be paid to the artist whether they choose to design one chair or a two-chair set.
At the end of the exhibition, all of the decorated chairs will be sold in an auction during a fall city event.
To apply to submit a design(s), go to www.Dublin.ca.gov/2154. All proposals must be received by Recreation Coordinator Tyler Phillips by Friday, November 29, 2019, at 5 p.m.
