Whiskey After Work presents a charity wine tasting benefiting Healing Our Heroes! Our cause - Healing Our Heroes is a foundation that helps first responders and military vets that are suffering from PTSD receive Neurofeedback Therapy. Each ticket includes hors devours, appetizers, and a tasting of a wide range of estate and direct-to-consumer wines from Obsidian Wine Co. Live music with be provided by our very talented musician, Brent McDonald. Our wine expert - Douglas Thompson is the Experience Director for Obsidian Wine Co. He has been with the company since 2016, a pivotal period of growth and change. Douglas has been instrumental in the development of Obsidian’s Direct to Consumer programs, most recently the new Obsidian Adventure program, which couples outdoor experiences with wine tasting components in a natural and educational environment. Douglas connects with guests who are also adventurers with the desire to experience wine in fun new ways, disrupting norms of how and where we consume it. Located in his hometown of Sonoma Valley, California, Douglas has been immersed in the wine world since his first summer job on a family-friend’s bottling line at 13 years old. With over 35 years in wine sales, buying, marketing, and hospitality, Douglas has been privileged to work in wine regions from Southern California to Eastern Washington and all points in between.
