Introduction of interview etiquette/soft skills, personal brand, and dressing for success We will be hosting our Power Professionals workshop on March 5th from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM at ASU Downtown. In this workshop, we will have a special guest, Dress for Success’s Teen Workforce Initiative team; they will be coming to talk to our students about how to dress professionally, be job interview ready, and overall professionalism. They will also be bringing their transformed box truck closet filled with professional clothing for students to see and learn what to wear at a professional event. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for Career Shadow Week. You will also have the opportunity to have a personalized outfit put together just for you! Complete the Style Survey to give TWI an idea of your style preferences and body type by March 2nd. Our mission is to increase the number of college-going students by inspiring and empowering elementary and high school students to become college bound, focused and prepared through leadership training and mentoring. Our vision is to reduce the educational attainment gap for historically underserved students by changing their mindset from believing that college is just a dream to knowing that higher education is, in fact, a very true reality. Our theory of change rests on the belief that providing youth with guidance, mentorship, educational resources and empowerment enhances their chances of pursuing a college education. We believe that through year-round, structured programming students become focused on a well-defined path to college. This methodology significantly improves educational outcomes for all our students. Our pipeline of programs instill a college-going mentality from middle school, through college and beyond to professional internships and graduate school.
