Description
This is a training class for pesticide applicator in search of their Limited Lawn & Ornamental (LLO) License. The Limited Lawn & Ornamental License: Is for government and private employees working in lawns, turf and ornamental plants around structures own by their employers. Allows the use of Restricted use Pesticides (RUP) and power equipment. Does not allow the applicator to apply RUP in alethic fields, golf courses, parks, sod farms or cemeteries. Requires each individual applicator to hold their own license. Instructor: Luis O. Rodriguez, Small Farms and Pesticide Education Extension Agent, Polk County CEUs: For the people looking for CEUs, 2 Core 482 and 2 LLO will be provide in this class. Agenda: 8:00 am Introduction 8:10 am Licensing LLO 8:20 am Understanding the label 8:40 am Introduction to Best Management Practices to Reduce Pollution and Conserve Water 9:00 am Best Management Practices for Design and Installation of Landscapes 9:20 am Irrigation Best Management Practices 9:40 am Mulching, Mowing, and Pruning and Fertilization 10:00 am Break 10:15 am Integrated Pest Management and Pesticide use 10:50 am Pest and Diseases of Ornamental plants and Turfgrass 11:30 am Weeds 12:00 pm Lunch Break 1:00 pm Palm Pests and Disorders 1:20 pm Application Equipment and Calibration 2:30 pm Review and evaluation 2:50 pm Break 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Testing Note If you wish to get the test the same day of the training you will have to get a voucher number before attending to the class. This voucher number have a fee of $150.00 and is not included in the workshop ticket.
