The L-273 Class is designed to provide basic training on the NFIP minimum requirements to local officials responsible for administering their local floodplain management ordinances. It is also helpful to others involved in floodplain management activities. The class will focus on the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), general concepts of floodplain management, the Flood Insurance Study, using FEMA floodplain maps, effective administration of the local flood ordinance, and the relationship between floodplain management and flood insurance.
It is not designed to be an exam preparation for the CFM Exam.
