Wheelchair Delivery Driver
Jobs
Fort Lauderdale FL
Description
Sand Helper is a motorized beach wheelchair rental company and we are seeking a contract delivery driver who drives a pick up truck or cargo van to periodically deliver sand wheelchairs to and from customers at hotels near the beaches between Miami and Ft Lauderdale. This is a great flexible side gig for anyone with a truck looking to make money in the evenings or early in the morning. It is like ride share but for wheelchair deliveries - no need for in-person interaction with a customer. We take reservations and handle the customers, and then distribute the delivery requirements to local drivers. The driver will be paid a flat rate per delivery within the delivery area. This could be delivery of the wheelchair to anywhere between Miami and Ft Lauderdale. There are two types of deliveries - "to customer" or "back to storage" and when they go to a customer, the job includes prepping the chair by cleaning it etc. PAY: $70 for a delivery from anywhere to a customer (at a hotel, condominium, etc). $60 for a transport from a customer back to storage. The rate is a flat fee regardless of where the chair is in the delivery zone. For reference, the storage unit (home base) is in the far north side of Miami, near 186th. The reason for the higher pay for "to customer" deliveries is because this is when the chair needs to be properly checked (tire pressure and a few other small things) and cleaned up for use by customer. DRIVER MUST OWN AND DRIVE A PICKUP TRUCK OR USE A TRAILER TO MOVE THESE CHAIRS. We have ATV ramps in the storage unit that you can borrow to load chairs onto your truck, but they need to be returned to the storage unit following deliveries to hotels/customers. When a delivery is available, all communication will be done between me and the driver via text message. After being offered a delivery, you as the independent contractor may choose to accept or decline to do the job via text message. To be considered, please reply with the following information in your email or text message: Name Cell phone number Email address City that you reside in Average availability (for example, "every day before 8am or after 6pm", or "every day of the week after 6pm") The type of truck or van that you will be driving (for example "Ford F-150" or "RAM Promaster 1500")
