WESTBURY, NY — Nassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe has announced that she will run for Congress to fill the seat being vacated by Kathleen Rice.
Bynoe, 54, currently represents Nassau County's 2nd Legislative District. She is the first person to announce their candidacy for Rice's seat. Rice announced last week that she would not be seeking re-election.

Bynoe, a Democrat, has been a Nassau County legislator since 2014. She has championed police reform in the county, and has also led efforts to create more oversight on county spending.
