Here are the top 3 stories today in Buffalo: Four suspects were arrested on weapons charges Sunday evening after a teenager who had been shot was dropped off at a hospital in a stolen vehicle. Buffalo Police began a pursuit and pulled over the vehicle, recovering an assault rifle and three handguns that were inside. The 17-year-old victim, who was reportedly shot near Eller Avenue and Heminway Street, is currently in stable condition. (WIVB.com - News 4)The City of Buffalo has released Requests For Qualifications to construct a 266-foot pedestrian bridge planned for the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park. According to Rebecca Gandour, the executive vice president of Buffalo Urban Development Corp, the city now needs to select a construction manager for the project. Gandour says that the next phase of the $23.4 bridge construction project is expected to be completed by late May. (WGRZ.com)Buffalo climate activists are calling on legislators to add $15 billion to the state budget in order to help disadvantaged neighborhoods suffering from the effects of climate change. Rahwa Ghirtmatzion, executive director of PUSH Buffalo, says the funding will help transition the state economy from fossil fuels to renewable energy without leaving anyone behind. Activists say that roughly 40 percent of the expanded investment would be redirected to local initiatives under the plan.
