Description

I’m a long time vocalist, bassist (guitarist, pianist & songwriter) who loves bands like Fastball and have been going down the rabbit hole lately watching and listening to their old hits (and new stuff, which are great) and miss playing songs like that. I guess they sorta lit a fire. Part of their appeal to me was that tight 3-piece thing. (Although I like added keys too.) Singing and playing that 90s era Fastball, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Crowded House, Semisonic, Oasis melodic, alternative pop stuff is what I cut my teeth on back in Boston over hundreds of shows, along with performing my own songs. (My voice sounds similar to those singers.) Anyway, after moving here originally to write 6 years ago, I’ve had a hankering lately to sing and play bass again on those covers of great bands. Wondering if there’s a solid song-oriented guitarist (who likes to get the parts/licks down), drummer and possibly keys out there with some experience who feel the same? Background harmonies a plus. No idea yet on gigs but figure there’s gotta be fans of that stuff out there who haven’t seen too many local bands playing just specifically that as opposed to the 90s bands out there that play every single style, including hip hop. (Not interested in the harder Nirvana stuff for this or the kinda weaker Matchbox 20 type songs.) Just killer, well-written 90s band-oriented pop rock songs/hits. Who knows - maybe original stuff too eventually or sprinkled in. Just spitballing here. Here’s a clip of me singing and playing (piano here) one of my songs that was featured in Showtime’s Californication with one of my old bands back in Boston: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bkVqZdfOixY And another song of mine: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZfFwJKrEw0P Feel free to send video clips as well. I’m pretty easy-going and looking for same. Obviously no dough to get it off the ground but would hopefully like to find places to play out and build something with it. I’m all ears on that. Definitely starts with just the enjoyment of playing the songs. Happy to share a partial list of songs I had in mind.
