JOLIET, IL — A 52-year-old Joliet man who lives in the Joliet Housing Authority's Stevenson Gardens Apartments on Stryker Avenue faces three criminal charges after Joliet police say Kevin Allen attacked two young girls and their grandmother. Friday's domestic violence was reported at 8:37 p.m., according to police spokesman Dwayne English. The high rise apartment complex is at 102 Stryker Ave. Allen grabbed the 9-year-old and threw her to a bed, causing the child to hit her head, according to Joliet police reports. Allen also grabbed the grandmother and dragged her to the bathroom, where she lost consciousness because Allen choked her, police said. "Officers heard a loud disturbance and children yelling for help coming from an apartment on the second floor," English stated. "Officers entered the apartment and located Allen standing over a female adult laying on the floor. Allen was placed into custody without incident." After Allen grabbed the 9-year-old girl by her arms and threw her to the bed, the child's grandmother "then laid on the bed and Allen grabbed the adult by her legs and dragged her into the bathroom," according to Joliet police. "Allen choked the adult victim to the point of losing consciousness." After Allen left the bedroom, he pushed the woman's 6-year-old granddaughter by her head on to a couch, police said. All three victims refused medical assistance, police reports show. Allen was brought to the Will County Jail, where he was charged with aggravated domestic battery and two counts of domestic battery. His bail was set at $100,000. Bail for 52-year-old Kevin Allen, who lives at the Joliet Housing Authority's Stevenson Gardens Apartments, was set at $100,000. Image via Google Maps
