SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Two people died when a pickup truck went off northbound Interstate Highway 505 and through a fence Monday afternoon in north Solano County near Winters, according to the California Highway Patrol. The deceased were identified by the Solano County Coroner's Office as Michael Pascua, 72, and Fely Pascua, 71, both of Alameda. At 2:08 p.m. Monday, the pair were in a 1999 Ford F-150 that went off northbound I-505 at the Gaddino Road offramp, just south of Putah Creek Road and the Yolo County line, the CHP reported. The pickup truck was found 40 feet off the roadway, and had major front-end damage, according to the CHP. The investigation revealed the truck turned right off the roadway, went through a chain-link fence and into an orchard where it struck a tree, CHP officials said. The cause of the crash remained under investigation but alcohol was not suspected as a factor, according to the CHP. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the CHP Solano-area office at 707-428-2100 or a non-emergency line at 800-TELL-CHP. Bay City News Service contributed to this report.
