Press release from the City of Inver Grove Heights: November 9, 2020 The City of Inver Grove Heights City Hall has experienced positive COVID-19 exposures, and out of an abundance of caution and concern for residents and staff, it will close to the public from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10 until 8 a.m. on Monday, November 30. The public can still reach city staff, who will continue working remotely, by calling City Hall at 651-450-2500. This closure to the public applies to Inver Grove Heights City Hall and the Police Department--both the east and west sides of the City Hall building--at 8150 Barbara Avenue, and the Inver Grove Heights Fire Department, including Fire Station No. 2 at 9200 Courthouse Boulevard. However, the Veterans Memorial Community Center (VMCC) at 8055 Barbara Avenue will remain open to the public. The public is encouraged to participate in city meetings remotely instead of attending in person. Essential City Services Remain Open and Available Deliveries Dial 651-450-2500 for service. Police & Fire Personnel This closure to the public will not affect essential city services, such as Police Department and Fire Department responses, and city water and sewer services. City staff will be available via phone at 651-450-2500 or by email to help with service requests. Public Safety If you need police, fire or medical response--emergency or non-emergency--dial 911. For general public safety inquiries, contact the IGH Police Department at 651-450-2525. Utilities Water Treatment facilities will remain open, and staff will continue to work. Residents can pay their utility bills online at: www.municipalonlinepayments.com/invergroveheightsmn. Public Works Maintenance Staff Public Works Maintenance facilities will remain open, and staff will continue to perform essential duties, such as snowplowing. Permitting Process Permits that do not require a plan review (i.e. furnace, water heater, AC, water softener) can be secured and paid for through the Inver Grove Heights online portal: www.ighmn.gov/1005/Online-Permits. Inspection staff are available by phone at 651-450-2550 for consultations during this time, or via e-mail at [email protected].
