DIXON, CA — Police on Tuesday arrested a Vacaville man accused of stealing 17 firearms, more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition and other items from a Dixon home earlier this month. The burglary was first reported June 1 at a home on the 1100 block of Charity Lane. In addition to the guns and ammunition, personal items including an autographed Harlem Globetrotters jersey were reported missing, police said. Detectives began looking for stolen items that may have been listed for sale on the internet, and eventually found the jersey on a website, according to police. They set up a sting operation to buy the jersey, and met the seller on Tuesday at a Vacaville parking lot. There, police arrested Marc McAtee Marino, 29, of Vacaville. Police arrested Marino on suspicion of possession of stolen property, and after executing a search warrant at his home, recovered 18 firearms and about 2,000 rounds of ammunition, according to police. Nine of those firearms were from the Dixon home, while others may have been taken from other places. Marino was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of several charges including residential burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
