Looking for a lead singer

We are looking for a lead singer for our band. We are a guitarist, bassist, and drummer and we play a style of music I would describe as heavy, melodic, riff-driven music. Elements of Tool, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, The Sword, Down and so on. All original music. We are in the process of writing and improving our original music and need a vocalist to help move this along. We need a singer who is either a true lead singer with a great voice OR a singer with a good voice who can also play rhythm guitar. The current guitarist can sing but is not a lead singer. If you can play guitar and can sing well, there may be an opportunity to share these singing duties or create some dynamics between two vocalists a la Alice in Chains. Our short-term goal is to continue writing songs. We have 5 songs that are pretty well established and the guitarist has many more riffs and songs to be worked on. The guitarist and bassist are writing lyrics but would like the singer to contribute to that work and be able to come up with vocal melodies. Our long-term goal is to record these songs as well as play gigs this summer or fall. We need you to take this role seriously, but not take yourself too seriously. Be committed to making music, have your own equipment or be willing to get your own (we have a small PA that works for jamming). We want to work but enjoy the work. No drama. We get together once every weekend, usually on Sundays (sometimes Saturdays) to play and work on these songs. During the week we focus on specific songs and parts individually so we can come back together and share those ideas. Please be willing to share some of your vocal work with us. We are all in our late 30's or 40's, have jobs, like to drink a couple beers when we jam (but not get f'd up), have a place to practice (Raymond Rd area), are liberal, are vaccinated, and want to get better as a band. You must be vaccinated, not be an a-hole, and be willing to work at this while also having fun.
